Our story

Eco del mare ↴

In ancient times the lower floor of the house used to be a fish shop.
In 1969 the house was bought by a Milanese family who started the first renovation.

The terrace on the top floor, with its astounding panoramic viewpoint, began to be enhanced.
Elisabetta's family is native to Cervo and has always lived in the adjacent house on the side facing the sea.

In 2017 we purchased the building in order to restore it and undertake a new life experience: providing hospitality.

There is nothing better than promoting and sharing the beauty of this country.
The inspiration for the name "Eco del mare" comes from the sound of the waves that crush every day, on the beautiful cliff of Porteghetto, in front of our house.

The renovation involved the whole building.

The roof has been redone (precisely in slate, a typical material of our village); the façade and the heating, air conditioning and electrical system have all been renewed as well; moreover, the rooms have been renovated with new floors, smoothing and cornices, external doors and windows.

Each room has a bathroom with pieces of antique furniture. We have restored interior doors, decorative gates and planters made entirely by hand in wrought iron by a local artist who sadly is no longer with us.

Respecting and promoting the historical value that every house in this village has keeps alive the history, the spirit and the tradition of those who lived it before us ... It makes us feel even closer to our loved ones who have entrusted it to us.

“Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire” (Gustav Mahler, musician, 1860-1911)
